Gimme G Sim
Builder notes
built my sim golf setup because I wanted a way to play golf year-round, no matter what the weather is doing. I wanted to be able to step into the simulator every day, play more rounds, work on my game, and become more consistent. The biggest thing for me is simply getting more reps. The more I play, the more I can learn about my swing, my distances, and my game. Having a simulator at home gives me the opportunity to play more golf than I ever could with just getting out on the course. For me, it’s not just about having a simulator. It’s about getting better, having fun, and enjoying the game as much as possible all year long.
My favorite component of my setup has to be the Garmin R50. It’s incredibly easy to use and super quick to set up, which makes it perfect for getting right into a round without spending a ton of time messing with equipment. I love how simple it makes the whole experience while still giving me all the information I need to understand my shots and work on my game. For me, the R50 is what makes it easy to just turn on the simulator and start playing!
The biggest lesson I’ve learned from setting up my simulator is to take my time and not feel like I need to spend a ton of money right away. You don’t need the most expensive equipment to get started and enjoy sim golf. I’ve learned that it’s better to start with what you need, enjoy it, and build from there. Make the build a progression instead of trying to have the perfect setup on day one. As you spend more time playing and figure out what you really want, you can upgrade and improve your setup along the way.
If I could change one thing about my sim golf setup, it would definitely be the ceiling height. I would love to move into a bigger room with a ceiling over 10 feet high so I can comfortably use my driver. Having more room would give me more freedom to swing, practice, and really take advantage of everything the simulator has to offer. It would be awesome to have a setup where I can play every club in the bag without having to worry about hitting the ceiling!
